Home Alone movie night

Happy December!! It’s officially the best time of the year, and I'm excited to share another movie night with y'all! It's been way too long. It’s time to watch all of our favorite Christmas movies again so I thought a Christmas movie night was only fitting. Home Alone & Home Alone 2 are some of my favorite Christmas movies. Watching them is nostalgic for me & always gets me in the Christmas spirit! This themed dinner was so much fun to create because it’s all about comfort food. It’s also the quickest & easiest one I’ve shared. This movie night will be fun to do if you have kids since it's basically all their favorite foods! haha! And there's even a hidden mickey in the video I made!! I don't even know how it got there!! haha

For the food, we wanted to stay true to the movie so pizza was the clear choice for the main course! As a side note, Walmart's new brand Bettergoods has the best frozen pizzas!! The Margherita one is our fave. I just added more toppings! We also recreated a Little Nero’s pizza box to make it extra fun. I printed off this free version and we taped it onto a white pizza box to keep it simple. Here’s the link for the free printable I used (I just flipped the image). It didn’t turn out perfect but it works. 😊

We also had to have mac and cheese & an ice cream sundae for dessert. For the flavors, I used scoops of coffee, caramel swirl, and chocolate and it was the perfect combo. I added some red and green sprinkles, chocolate syrup, and whipped cream. I also made a snack mix since throughout the movie you see the same bag of snack mix. I shared the recipe below! It’s so addicting, you won’t be able to stop eating it. Lol! Sorry not sorry! For the drinks, we couldn’t decide whether to do Pepsi or milk so we did both since there is both in the movie. Plus, the milk in the goblet is such a funny scene.

Snack Mix Recipe:

ingredients:

1 box of Cheez-it classic snack mix

1 cup of pretzels

1 cup of oyster crackers

1 stick of melted unsalted butter

¼ cup of dry ranch seasoning (or 1 packet)

instructions:

Preheat your oven to 400°F. Melt the stick of butter (on the stove or in the microwave). Pour the Cheez-it snack mix, pretzels, and oyster crackers into a large bowl and mix. Pour the melted butter over the crackers and mix well to coat. Then sprinkle over the ranch seasoning and mix well to evenly distribute. Toss the mix onto a large parchment-lined baking sheet and spread out evenly.

Bake for 25-40 min. Check at the halfway point, mix everything to help bake more evenly, and put back into the oven. I like mine to be extra toasty so I usually go 30-40 min. Once it’s done, let cool for a few minutes & then enjoy! Keep leftovers in an airtight container.

I linked all the items we used here!

You can watch the video I made that goes along with this post here!

That’s all I have!! I hope you create some fun memories with this one! Please tag me if you try it, I would love to see your recreations!! ps: the hidden Mickey is in my glass of milk! Some of the bubbles perfectly formed a Mickey head and I noticed it while I was filming! haha!
